Pump is short cycling and blowing foot valve off.
I woke up Saturday to no water; checked the pump into house and it was running (did not notice the short cyle at the time) so shut it off and checked holding tank. There was plenty of water but the pvc pipe that has the foot valve screwed into it was off. So let the pump cool down and put pipe back on then when I turned on the pump it started short cycling and blew pipe back off. It seems to be building pressure but then blows it back down into the holding tank and the pipe that the foot valve is connected to comes off. I have replaced the switch and the pressure tank and when that didn't work I put a new pump in with another new switch and it still is doing the same thing. What else can be causing this? At wits end and tired of hauling and boiling water to take a bath.. :(

How is the pipe attached to the pump? I'm trying to understand how it can be "blown off" and then reconnected successive times.

By "holding tank", are you referring to the pressure tank, or do you have some sort of storage tank for water?
