In a brand new home I have little hot water for my shower.. I was told by the builder that new laws have restricted water temp in residential showers because of danger to children.. / my wife and I were children 60 years ago and we have no small children in the house... is there any way to bypass this ridiculous limitation?

Any help would be appreciated... the shower contol is a single handle delta

By little hot water do you mean there is not much flow or you run out too soon? Find out which shower mixing valve you have and if the retricter is in the shower head or the mixing valve, builder should know

Do you really mean the setting on the hot water heater or boiler?

Hi all

I believe HB is talking about the temperature limiting device that is mandatory on all tub/shower valves nowadays, and yes it can be bypassed... ;)

With that being said, 112-115F is the standard maximum temperature allowed and that is plenty hot for everyone I know, HB, so the first thing I would recommend is getting a thermometer out and taking a temperature reading of MAX. hot water. If the max. temp is below 112-115F then have the builder's plumber come out and set the proper temperature. If the max. temp is at 115F or above then I can't recommend increasing the temp. but if you must just let me know the name brand/model faucet you have and I'll see what I can do!
