    Pluming loud noise when turning off outside water and running dishwasher.
    We bought this house about 2 years ago and when we watered the lawn and turned off the water we would get a loud noise. We asked a plummer about it and he said there was air in our pipes and to get the air out was pretty expensive. Recently we had a new kitchen sink and counter tops put in and all of a sudden when we run the dishwasher throughout the running we get the loud noise. If we turn the dial one click or so it well reduce the noise, but the noise comes back, and we restart the cycle. What can we do to get the air out of our pipes without calling a plummer?

    What kind of noise? A loud bang or thump, like some one hit a piece of wood with a pipe?

    I am surprised that an actual plumber would have given you this explanation. A fast acting valve could cause a thump due to water hammer, not air in the lines and the fix is not expensive. When your counter was replaced did the washer get disconnected at any time? Could be debris in the water inlet solenoid or just a bad washer in the valve, unrelated to your other issue.

    I'll bet it was. It costs big money to vacation in Aruba.
    1) No such thing as air in the line causing noise.
    2) If there were air in your lines all you would have to do is open the top most faucet and let it bleed off. Pretty expensive operation, huh?
    I wouldn't call that plumber back, he didn't give you a honest answer.
    Now, as Harold requested. Describe the noise and let's get you back in business.
