Regular 1/2" is fine. keep in mind that your temperature control valve on shower likely has only a 3/8" hole so even if you bring in 1" supply, your pressure on your shower is set there in the valve.

You can rent the pex tubing crimper from HD, otherwise its like $200 to buy.

If it's just a generic full bath, a 3/4" cold feed and a 1/2" hot feed should be sufficient.

OTOH, if you're installing a tub/shower valve with 3/4" inlets (Dornbracht, Grohe or Jado, for example) or intend to have a shower with multiple functions (Fixed shower head, hand held unit, rain pan shower head and body sprays, for example) you should bring a minimum of 3/4" hot and cold feeds.

If the shower is going to have two or three separate functions with separate volume controls, then you should provide 1" feeds for optimum performance.

I am running pex tubing in a bathroom I am building in my basement. Can the pex run flush with the 2x4's or do I need some kind of spacer so it is not laying flat on the wood? Also what kind of bends can the tubing stand?

Maytag refrigerator icemaker tubing [ 1 Answers ]

Maytag friges say "do not use plastic tubing kits to connect the icemaker". Is there a legitimate reason to use copper. I have both kits, but I would rather have the flexability of the plastic so that it can flex when I pull the frige out. Thanks

Whirlpool tub flexible tubing [ 2 Answers ]

I just bought a American Std. Whirlpool tub open box from Lowe's. I noticed that there are a couple of ~3/16" flexible lines (tygon tubing) that are not connected to anything. One clear blue and is from the water return port. This has what looks to be a small plastic fitting (check valve?) on the...

Vinyl tubing for plumbing [ 3 Answers ]

The water line for my outdoor hose runs just under the I-beams of my basement ceiling. It is currently 3/4" copper. I want to put that into the ceiling so I can finish the basement off. I found 3/4" clear flexible vinyl tubing at the home improvement store that can be put through the holes in each...

Looking for a good set of tubing cutters [ 1 Answers ]

Hi folks, I'm looking for a good set of tubing cutters - a regular-sized one for standard pipe cutting (mostly 1/2", but sometimes all the way up to 1-1/4") and also occaisionally for cutting electrical conduit (1/2" EMT), and a "midget" cutter for cutting narrow tubing and (more importantly)...
