Pacific Hydrostar Shallow Well Jet Pump issues...
Good Evening to all of you in Cyberspace! I want to see if you can lend me a couple ideas on why my pump isn't working.

I bought the 1 Horse Jet pump from Harbor Freight, And have everything set accordingly. For our well, the Top of the water line is at about 14' below where I've got the pump, so Lift height shouldn't be a problem at all. The Piping I used is Schedule 40 1" PVC. I've looked at all my connections and have not seen any where they are loose or where water could escape.

I've also primed the pump according to what the manual says (and inflated the air bladder inside the tank to 29PSI per the specifications on the unit itself) And it won't pull up any water at all...

I don't understand the dynamics of this pump and I don't get why it's not pulling any water either. The other problem I've seen is that the pressure gauge on the impeller housing doesn't move off the 0 mark...

Do any of you have any thoughts on what COULD be causing this? Or do I just need to take this pump back to them and get a new one?

    LMK what you think!

Do you have a check valve at the end of the input line. I have one pulling
About 6 feet height over a 35 foot length and I have a check valve at the end.

In the spring it takes quite a while to get the pump primed, but once primed
It holds the pressure. 14' is a long length w/o a check valve.

Try it check valves are cheap.

It would seem you have a footvalve at the end of the wellpipe. I say that because you say you primed the pump. So you removed the prime port on the pump and poured in water until it overflowed? And before you replaced the port, did you make sure the level of water in the pump stayed level?
