No hot water pressure only in bathtubs
Hi. I had a clawfoot bathtub installed in an existing bathroom and another one installed in an added bathroom about a hear ago. I had a new hot water heater installed at the same time. For awhile, all was well. Recently there is low hot water pressure in both tubs. The cold seems OK. Both have faucets that come with the contraptions that allow you to use the tubs as showers... so they have a hot on/off and a cold on/off that come out one faucet, that has a pull on it to make the water go to the shower head. It starts with OK (not great) pressure and then w/in a minute it trickles to nothing. When I shut it off sometimes I hear a "clunk" noise. I thought it might be the faucet, but the upstairs one isn't much better than the downstairs one. Pressure everywhere else in the house is fine. If I turn on all of the water in the house it will improve very temporarily (like until I turn it of and on again). We are on city water.

    Thanks. Erica

Sounds like you dislodged minerals built up in the pipe walls and now they've got up to your tub/shower valves. Thw solution is to shut the water off and take each valve apart, check and clean the inlet ports and seats and before you button up turn the water back on to flush out the supplies and the valve body. Do this with each valve. Good luck, Tom
