No Hot Water Pressure in Kitchen only
I'm having a problem with my hot water pressure in my kitchen sink only. I have completely replaced the whole faucet thinking it might be the problem but am having the same problem with the new faucet. I went from a one handle faucet to a two handle faucet hoping that might help the problem. I have a hot water heater, should I flush it? Or what would be my next step? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! - James

Since the problem is isolated to only the kitchen sink I'd investigate the angle stop cock coming out of the wall. It may not be opening all the way or plugged with crud. Sut off your main and open the connections at the stop. You may be able to visually inspect the stop.

Your next step should be to Shut the water off at the water heater or house stop and remove the hot water angle stop and check the seat for trash. Now hold a bucket over the open stub-out and have someone turn the water back on for a minute or so to flush out the hot water branch. You should have a strong stream hitting the bucket now. If so reassemble, if not click on back. If you get a load of crud out of the line then your heater should be flushed. Let me show you how. For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by flushing on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear Good luck, Tom
