No clog water is not going down
I snaked the drain no clog! I hear the water in the middle of where the basement sink the washer and the kitchen sink meet. It makes noise and then release what is going on? Oh I snaked it from the main pipe in the floor because I can't get it through the sink drain. I an a 61 year old woman and I just can't figure this out! I think it is a clogged vent and I don't know what you would do with that other than cutting the pipe. Can you help me? Sandy

Hi Sandy and Welcome to The Plumbing Page. At AskMeHelpDesk.com.
Let's take it from the top. What's backing up? Where did you snake from? How much snake did you put out? It doesn't sound like a vent problem. You have a blockage. Answer my questions and we'll go from there. Tom

The drain from the washer, the basement sink and the kitchen sink on the first flool all meet into the main drain. I opened the main drain and I put in a 50ft snake. The snake I used was a flat snake with a arrow one the end. It went through with no problem. I put the cap back on and I filled the basement sink with water. When I took the plug out of the sink water started to go down then it stopped. It made a lot of noise where all the pipes meet above the main opening. I looked up with frustration and saw the new ceiling tile was dripping! The water went up stairs and out of the laundry drain!! All of the plumbing is new from the kitchen sink to the main because I was flooded and I lost everything in the basement. Thank you for your help Sandy

It was dry but the water is not going down. I gave up I called my plumber and he told me to call the drain company. They came in and told me it was like a pencil going through a large pipe. It was something I could not do and I think I made the right decision by calling them. Every thing is working great ! Thank you for your help.
