    Leaky tub faucet
I have a 3 handle system in the tub/shower and just noticed that the faucet is steadily running--kind of a small stream -- can't seem to tighten the knobs any more.. any ideas?

Until someone comes along who really knows plumbing and who can address your post, what I would think would be that the seats behind or underneath the handles may need to be replaced or ground down so that they are smooth. I say this because I have had a similar problem with mine where the seats had gone bad.

Sounds like the valve needs new washers. Remove the largenut threaded into the valve body,(see image) and back each stem and washer assembly out counterclockwise. Replace the washers and now check the seats for nicks or rough spots. If you find any replace the seat as well. Good luck, Tom
