    Leaking shower faucet
Hi, I have a shower faucet that is constantly leaking. It is a Price Pfister three control system, (hot, cold, and shower diverter). The cold water handle leaks when it's on and the shower is off. The shower diverter leaks when it is turned on. And the actual faucet leaks when everything is turned off. This is my only shower in the home, so I'm trying to get a list of things I need to fix this so I can try and do 1 trip to the plumbing store. Any help is much appreciated! :)

N order to help we have to know just where the leaks are at. Does it leak from the stem of the handles? The spout? The shower head? In short we don't have enough details. Regards, Tom

    Hi Tom,

The cold water and shower diverter leak from the stems. When the water is all off, water leaks from the spout.

The cold water and shower diverter leak from the stems.
To stop a leak from the stem open the valve a little and snug up the bonnet packing nut,(see image) do not over tighten, stop when the leak quits.
When the water is all off, water leaks from the spout
This makes me wonder if the seats are OK. You will have to shut the water off and unscrew the large nuts and back the stem and washer assembles out counter clockwise. Replace all the washers. Now run your fingernail around the seats. If they are nicked or rough they must be replaced. Good luck, Tom
