Leaking new bronze bathtub shoe drain
I just installed a new bronze bathtub drain and stopper assembly. The joint between the shoe and the shoe tubing (which leads to the bronze tee that connects up with the overflow tube) is leaking. It is NOT the connection between the waste plug and the shoe that is leaking... Any ideas on how to stop the joint I described from leaking? It is not a joint that is "tighten-able" by tightening with a slipnut and washer... it appears to be a glued/soldered connection of some sort that the drain manufacturer made before putting the waste shoe and pipe into a box for sale... thanks for any help?

Are you sure it isn't a threaded fitting that is leaking?

Some of the brass waste and overflows have threaded fittings where the 1-1/2 pipe goes into the drain shoe.

Like growler said make sure about the threads. Also make sure it is not coming from the joint where the shoe meets the tub itself. Remember that the spud also has threads that screws into the shoe.
