    Lazy flushing toilet
Our house was renovated a few months ago, with a new toilet.
At first, it was working fine, but recently it hasn't been flushing completely. The water level doesn't rise beyond what it used to, and it doesn't flush slowly, but at the end of the flush there is always a bit of scungy water that swirls around at the bottom. Sometimes toilet paper is left behind. Successive flushes also don't clear the water 100%.
I don't actually know anything about plumbing, so I was wondering if there is anything seriously wrong? And how can I fix the lazy flush?
Also - it's one of those S-bend toilets without the small hole that helps push water into the drain. It's also a water-conserving loo. I've heard that "blue-goo" sometimes causes slow drainage, but we're not using that.
    Thank you!

You have a "gravity flush" or ":wash down" toilet. This depends on the force of the water in the tank to began the siphoning process, The more water in your tank the better the flush. Make sure the water level in the tank is 1/2" beneath the white overflow tube.
Another thing could be a partial blockage in the line causing back pressure that could "kill" the latter part of your flush. Are there any bubbles that come back when you flush? Back to you, Tom

I read the other postings, and most of the problems came in with old toilets. Mine is brand new (within a year old) and I just moved in to my new place. The condo has 2 identical toilets and the other flushes just fine. I have mimicked the settings of the working toilet and still can't get my...

Lazy Toilet caused by sewer line bellies [ 6 Answers ]

Hi, My downstairs toilet just recently became a lazy flusher and sometime acts like it is blocked up. The RR guys came out and snaked it with no result. I pulled the toilet and installed a new one (the old one was builders quality and I was happy to replace it). This didn't fix the problem. ...
