Initial low water pressure with new kitchen sink sprayer
I recently removed a brita water filter from the kitchen faucet. After doing that I found the water pressure from the sprayer very low.
I found that could be due to the krud that the brita filter was blocking getting into the sprayer. So I bought a new sprayer like the first one, i.e. a cheap, generic one.
After installing the new sprayer and using it the water pressure from it is now initiaaly slow for a few seconds, then goes full force. The water pressure in the hose the sprayer is attached to is normal when the sprayer is detached.
Can anyone tell me why water pressure in new sprayer is initially low? Could it be that new sprayer is defective?

    Hi Mmendetta:

Most likely, the spray DIVERTER inside the faucet itself is gunked up with some crud. If you disassemble the faucet (lift the spout clear off the faucet) you will probably find the diverter valve around the back of the faucet.. UNDER THE SPOUT. You would use a small mirror and some small allen wrenches and see if you can grab the diverter, remove it and clean it.

Let me know what you think...

As it turned out the fix was simple. I had not yet placed a new filter in the faucet so I did that and now the sprayer works as it should.
    Thanks for help.

    Sorry Mmendetta...

I missed this from your 1st post ----->>"The water pressure in the hose the sprayer is attached to is normal when the sprayer is detached."

    Thank you for updating me!
