How much does it cost per foot to run a water line and to hook up to public water?
Barrow County, Ga on a 10 acre piece of property. There is only 40 feet that fronts the main road. The house is about 1500 feet back off the road.

Is there a hydrant or neighbors to confirm there is even a water main along the roadway? No matter what any of us say here at the desk its going to boil down to what your 3 bidders say, always get 3 bids. We can't tell the soil conditions or the grade but a job like this could easily run $9000 not counting the permit and hook up fee.

That's a long way back. If you have electricity, I'd probably go with a well. An average 200-250 ft. well, 6" in this part of GA is about $5-6K depending on how hungry the well company is. Most are pretty hungry now.

As already suggested above, I would definitely get several estimates and ask lots of questions. Excavation and trench re-fill will be most of the bill. Installing 75 sticks of pipe can be done in one day by plumber and helper. Contractor who owns heavy excavation equipment would be best candidate for the job. These days, lot of companies are struggling so you may be able to negotiate good deal. Good luck. Let us know how it went. Milo
