    How do you prove that the sewer line was installed incorrectly?
    I have a sewer line sag that runs 30 feet long and sags more than 4 inches. My warranty has expired.I got the home builder to cover the bill if I can prove that it was installed incorrectly. I do have it on video, the sag that is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Many new sewer lines are video inspected by the city or county before a CO is issued. In Cherokee County GA, all lines are video recorded. Required where you live? 4 inches is a lot but I don't see how you can prove it was the builders fault without a video of the install before a CO was given. Otherwise digging up the line and doing a soil test would be needed. Do you have a soil compaction record? Required by your location?

    I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada and it is not required to videotape the sewer line. I have talk to counselors in the city that I live to push this forward.I have found the compaction test that we're done and the city requires 98 percent density and my lot was 99 percent density. There was no soil added to my Lot only taken away as it was a high spot.

    You will have a hard time if soil was removed and compaction was greater than required.

    The compaction test was the lot before excavation and trench was dug. I believe they over excavated the trench.

    Not sure what would be considered sufficient evidence. Just afraid that I have to spend a lot of money that I don't have on something that should have been done properly to begin with. You can see on the video that there is a sag greater than 4' over 30' long...
