How do you plumb double sinks
I am in a rental and have double sinks. The landlord just got a plumber to put in new pipes, now every time I let the dishwater out the other sink backs up. I think the plumbing guy "his bubby" plumbed it wrong, am I right?

I saw that image before, but don't have dishwasher, and have no idea what the disposer is. Mine is a basic two sinks with no attachments (ie dishwasher, garbage disposal).

Post a pic of under your sink and we will tell you if its right or not. Most likely, it won't matter how its plumbed directly under the sink, as you most likely have a clog in the piping further down stream.

If one sink drains and the other not - it means you have drain clog somewhere past the point where these two pipes connect. The blockage probably was there already building up over few months.

Post a photo... we want to see what it looks like...

Solution: You are a renter. You should not be responsible for this type of repairs. Call the plumber back and ask him to check on his installation.

Does your sink have one trap for both tubs?
every time I let the dishwater out the other sink backs up.
Sounds like you have a blockage inn the Horzontal drain in the wall.
Remove the trap asnd send a snake up into the wall. (see image) you will run into a bend about 8 inches in but once around that you only have to put out 6 feet more. Replace the trap and flush with a sink full of hot water. Good luck, Tom
