How do we find a new tank? Home Depot doesn't seem to carry the model we have.
Thank you. Our tank is cracked. It seems that Home Depot is the only store here on Long Island, New York, that carries your brand. Are there other retailers ? HDepot doesn't carry the exact model we have. Are the tanks interchangeable ?

Tanks are interchangeable. You must pay attention to the configuration of the water in and the water out lines and where they go in and go out on the actual tank.

Are you going to be installing this tank yourself or are you having a plumber do it for you?

If you take a picture or make a drawing of these in and out water lines of your present tank and take the picture or drawing along with you to get a new tank you should be able to match up these lines with whatever new tank you pick out. Tanks are not that complicated once you stick with either the top fill bottom out or top fill and top out line configuration. There aren't too many models to choose from that are different from these two configurations.

I had a tank replaced a year ago and actually got a top fill and top out water line configuration when the original tank was top fill bottom out configuration. I bought the same gallon tank and had my plumber install it for me.

If it is electric you can almost do the installation yourself if you are handy but if it is a gas water heater then have a professional install it for you if you don't know what you're doing with gas appliances.

    Are the tanks interchangeable ?
If you're talking about water heaters the answer is yes. Any tank can be installed. They are all interchangeable. If you're talking about another type of tank click on back and tell me about it. Good luck, Tom

Is there any truth to advice someone gave me never to purchase lighting fixtures such as Hampton Bay (or other Home Depot stuff), mainly because their being manufactured in China makes them of inferior quality and that they will corrode or otherwise breakdown very quickly?
