Elbow is a very bad spot for leak. Fortunately for you, repairs are easy and PVC is cheap.

Get new elbow and 2 couplings of the same size pipe. Cut the pipe about 6" before the leaking elbow and 6" past it. Clean the pipe, make sure it is dry. Glue in two coupling, one on each pipe. Then cut two short pieces (about 5 1/2" long ) of PVC pipe. Glue each piece into the coupling. Than glue new elbow onto these two pipe pieces. Hold together by hand for 30 seconds so the glue won't push it apart. Leave at least 10 minutes before you turn water back on. That should do...

    Hey all...

You could try using a plastic epoxy such as available at www.JBWELD.COM (available at most of the larger home supply stores). Clean the fitting real well with sandcloth and then apply the epoxy according to package directions.

If that doesn't work or you simply don't want to mess with this in that way then follow Milo's advice above. Only thing I would add is that you need to purchase the 2 couplings, an elbow, a 2 foot piece of pvc pipe and a small can of pvc cement and pvc PRIMER.

Be sure to use the primer to pre-soften all joints just prior to cementing the joint together.

If the space is exceptionally tight and you can't see a way to use two couplings then you can also use a shielded clamp (see picture) and fit together as needed.

    Good luck...
