Here's a link that may help, Converting Pump Head to Pressure
I assume the holding tank is elevated. And you're asking how much power it would take to pump water up to it. Am I correct? How much higher is the tank from the pump. The tank volume isn't important. Volume has nothing to do with your question. Can you furnish more details? Back to you. Tom

If you're talking about five or ten feet, then it's really not worth worrying about. Figure about 0.4 pounds per foot of elevation. You would need to figure to the top of the water in the tank.

A little trivial question. Why is the average house pressure 45PSI?
Head pressure is .434 PSI to the foot. Water towers are 100 foot high. That gives about 43 1/2 Psi. Factor in the depth underground and you get 45 PSI head pressure at the base. And now you know why waters are 100 feet high. Cheers, Tom
