    Several things would cause this problem.
    1) a leak on the pressure side. To check this shut the valve off that supplies the house and watch the gage. If it doesn't drop or the pump stays quiet you have a leak either in the line to the house or a hidden leak in the house itself.
    2) Keeping the house still shut off watch the gage. If it falls or the pump keeps running then the problem's a faulty check/ foot valve or a leak in the suction line.
    You nay have to call in a pump guy on this one. Good luck, Tom
