Is it possible that a household member turned a stop valve closed. Kids do this all the time.

Or sometimes if the main water supply is shut off, even for brief periods and turned back on, the inrush causes sediment displacement and may cause valves with small orifices to acquire a blockage.

Try turning the supply valve to hot and tap it gently (don't bust it!) with a small hammer. This will not fix it but may reveal a clue to source of problem. A back flush may still be required to really clear it, if it's clogged .

    Hello Mislndb54,

First of all we don't use Caps on this web site, your problem sounds like you have debris in the hot port of the valve please tell us if your faucet is a one handle, three knobs or the model number, it may require to remove the cartridge or the stem to flush out the debris out, Thanks.

    Mslindab,
FIRST OFF, LOSE THE CAPS! Web don't yell at each other in here.
    Answer Johns questions.
I'm going to put up a older Delta tub and shower valve. (see image)'
Turn then water off and open up the valve, Remove every thing down through the seats and springs, Now turn the water back on to flush out the supplies and open valve body, You should have a full stream when you do this. If not tell me about it. Reassemble and test. Got hot water now? Good luck, Tom

No. You're looking at the diverter. The closest thing to a stem would be #6. Why do you ask? Regards, Tom
