My mom has a rust spot the size of quarter that is about to become a hole in her tub. Is there something I could buy to fix it for her until she buys a new tub?
Thanks in advance,
Scotty

Remove only the loose rust and rough up some of the surrounding area and then use Extend which will polermerize the rust and turn it black.
Then get some epoxy used for plumbing repairs and patch. Sand to your liking.
For larger holes I'd suggest a fiberglass patch used for patching automobiles.

Sppedball:
Last time I checked, plastics don't rust. Unless you know something I don't.

It's a standard question I always ask when the information is sketchy. I realize that it's probably a steel tub but I want someone to say it. Over the years I've learned not to attempt to fill in the blanks. I want it down where I can see what I'm working with. Regards, Tom

I would probably have to say it's fiberglass. The hole is located below the overflow plate.

FUNNY! I pulled up that link and the before & after photos that they show, looks like my second sink. One sink is rusted so bad turned into a hole and my second sink has two chips in like the “before” picture.
