I have a Grohe Ladylux single handle. I am trying to replace the Euromix cartridge. I have all the retainers removed down to the cartridge itself. I can not get this cartridge out. I am asking if there is something I should be looking for (a clip or some other piece) that needs to be manipulated in order to get this cartridge out.

The diagram I have "looks" like it just pulls out (by putting a small screwdriver through the holes in the end of the unit) but no luck.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you ever find a solution to your problem? I am currently trying to remove the euromix cartridge and am having no luck. Even with the cartridge remover recommended to me by the plumbing supply store, it will not budge. It turns, but will not come out.

Please let me know if you have any advice. Grohe customer service is closed for the evening. Thought someone may be online to help.

I've pulled out the cartridge from a grohe ladylux faucet several times over the past 25 years (and replaced them with a new one). I've used a large nail that goes through the two holes (assuming that brass part of the cartridge hasn't broke - that is often the reason for the need to replace). I know the feeling that, no matter how hard you pull, the cartridge doesn't budge. However, be assured, pull hard enough and, eventually, it will come out (make sure the water is shut off). The last time I purchased a cartridge, the guy at the plumbing supply store advised me to periodically take out the cartridge (while it is still good) and lubricate the three "O" rings with pure silicone. This I continue to do and, hopefully, no more cartridge replacements.

I am in the same situation now, but there is a small clip at the top of the cartridge. I don't know if I should push this up, down, in, or out. It seems to move a little in all directions, but of course I don't want to force it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The replacement cartridge comes with a white nylon spacer. Use that and the big nut that holds the cartridge in as a puller. That's what the cryptic diagram at the bottom of the exploded diagram is trying to convey.

Screw the big nut back on. Slip the nylon spacer over the stem. Put a screwdriver through the holes in the stem. It will be snug with the spacer. Loosen the nut. It will pull the cartridge out as it goes.

After the nut is completely loose, pull the cartridge out using the screw driver you've slipped through the holes in the stem. You may have to tug really hard.

What I ultimately wound up doing was placing a prybar with a nail pulling hole in the end over the stem and putting a nail through the hole in the stem behind the prybar. I then used an appropriately sized block of wood to pry against in order to protect the faucet finish and get the best leverage. It then just took a little bit of force on the prybar to pull it right out. Hope this helps others in my situation!
