What is the reason when someone is in the shower and adjusting hot and gold water

That's a easy one. One of two things. 1) Someone opened up a hot water faucet abd stole your hot water **OR** 2) T he dip tube, located under the cold water inlet, has slipped down into the tank and is no longer directing water down to the bottom of the tank where it will be heated. Instead you're drawing cold water along with the hot. Before you can repair it you have to isolate the cause. Good luck, Tom
