Flush Toilet, Yuck In Shower Drain
When I flush my toilet, my shower drains makes a noise and yucky looking trash comes up through the shower drain. I have been living in this house for 2-3 months. This is the first time something like this has happened. The house had been unoccupied for three or four years prior to me living there. My dad said to try Drano down the shower drain. Is this a good idea? Can someone please help me?

You say the house has been unocupied for 3 or 4 years, that's a long time if the system has not been used.

Maybe there was a blockage that only freed itself after continual usage of the draining system e.g.. You moving in, or the pipe work is incorrectly plumbed in, I would call in a plumber to check out the whole plumbing system.

Not sure about Drano, it may clean out the system, but you need to find the cause to prevent it from re-ocurring.

Blocked line. Shower/tub drains connect to toilet drain under floor. Waste water will show up first in tub or shower because their drains are at the floor level. Proposed solution : snake your main line.
