Faucet has no pressure, but sprayer does?
My kitchen faucet is about 6 months old and has worked great until today. It was on and working and I used the sprayer to rinse a dish. When I released the trigger on the sprayer, the faucet was putting out very little water. I have played with the sprayer and even removed and reinstalled it. The faucet just has no pressure.

    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

You have a problem with the diverter not doinhg its job. The diverter's ba flap in the valve body that shuts off the flow to the spout after the sprayer's turned on. When you release the sprayer the flap opens up allowing the water to flow to the spout. The sprayer is pressurized up to the sprayer head every time the water's turned on. To tell you more we will need the naqme of your faucet and its age. Regards, tom

I'm not sure of the name, but I bought it at WalMart about 6 months ago. Let me ask this... if I replace the sprayer assembly will that help the problem, or is the diverter in the faucet? I'll keep trying to find the name of the faucet.

    Thanks again!

Sometimes the obvious can be so difficult to see. You very well could have a problem with the diverter but have you checked the areator for debris? I am not familiar with a walmart faucet but I am betting it cost 29 dollars and is plastic. You may consider a glacier bay faucet from home depot next time. It is inexpensive and typically a delta clone so it performs well and can sometimes use delta repair parts.

Well, I can't find the model on it anywhere, and I can't find the original instructions that came with it. It's not one of the cheapies from WalMart, but it is still from WalMart which may not say a lot for it. It's stainless steel with a swivel head to ark the water into a high pot or pan.

What's an easy and safe way to remove the aerator? I don't want to damage it with pliers.

    Thanks!

The areator should be only hand tight. If not, try using a cloth under rounded pliers not the straight jaw channel locks. The cloth should grip without scratching. Some, but very few areators require a special tool for removal.

Holy Cow! Believe it or not there was a chunk of rust (probably from the pipes) jammed in the aerator! I cleaned it and it works like a champ!

Thanks for all of your help!
