    Double sink usage
I have always had a single bowl sink, but am thinking of changing to a double sink. I can't decide between a 50/50 configuration or a 60/40 configuration. How do people use each side? Where should garbage disposal be placed?

Most newer sinks I install for customers are 60/40 with the disposal on the larger side since most of the dishes and pots end up there. Fairly easy DIY job, particularly if the wiring reaches but you can always add a Jbox under the sink for more wire.

I guess I'm a throwback. I deliberately went back to a single bowl sink with no disposal. More counter room and less scouring of stainless.
What's with grinding up good compost anyway? Plus it frees up room under the sink, doesn't clog, saves electricity, and is free. I put meat scraps in the freezer until I go to the dump, and compost in a small bin until I take it outside.

In our new condos we install a 50/50 Stainless steel sink with the disposal in the right hand tub. But the correct choice is whatever you like the best. Good luck, Tom
