    Clean it out. If you don't rinse your dishes off well, food particles stay there and rot.

    Hi Jim

    Look under the sink and check to be sure that the discharge hose from the dishwasher is looped up high above the disposal connection (if you have one) or the branch tailpiece (if no disposer). If the discharge hose is not looped above the disposal or branch drain, sink water can fall down into the dishwasher via gravity... *YUCK*!

    Check that and post back

    Also make sure the filter is clean. This is located in the bottom, under the spray arm. Some people put a cup or less of bleach in an unused DW.
