I didn't turn the power off when adjusting the temperature
I adjusted the temperature on the Rheem water heater (81V52D) but didn't turn the power off when I did this. I realized after the fact that the directions said to turn the power off. Is it okay now that the adjustment has been made or do I risk any other problems?Got instructions to adjust for hoter water on line but realized I missed the step. Thanks for your help

    Hi Jklesher...

The only reason they tell you to shut the power off is because they don't want homeowners (or plumbers for that matter) working on the thermostat or element with power on... could get seriously hurt!

Since you survived, I'm sure the water heater is fine as well... :)

    Good luck!
