    Delta faucet tub spout installation instructions
    I'm trying to replace my tub down spout. I bought a iniversal fit on eand then took my old delta spout off only to find what appears to be a brass barrel about 2 inches long with the seal on one end and treads for screwning the splout on the other it appears to sweated on Is it? Can I heat it and remove it? The does not seem to be enough pipe to use if I cut it any help thanks

    You need to know how to match what you have with what you need to buy. Spouts slip on with set screw on the bottom or they are threaded. Not having a picture I would venture to guess your old spout broke apart somewhat when you removed it, the brass tube was part of the spout but remains on the threaded pipe. I am a bit confused when you said a thraede pipe is sweated on the other end. Can you post a pic?
