Copper to pvc toilet drain
The lead pipe that connects to toilet flange is cracked .this is connected to a two and a half copper pipe comeing from the t for the drain .I am trying to convert flange to pvc ,is it possible to connect 2 and a half inch copper to 3 inch pvc ? I was in home depot and they had that rubber clamp but only to go from 3inch to 3 .I already cut out the old flange with saws all through copper pipe .they didn't have the lead type either .any suggestions on either type of fix is appreciated.

Hi Steve,
If that is a toilet pipe then that 2.5" copper pipe should actually be 3" copper. 3" copper is much smaller than 3" PVC... If this is the case, then you will need a 3" copper x 3" PVC shielded transition clamp to make the connection (see image). Sometimes you can find these at home depot or Lowe's, but you can always find them at your local plumbing supply store. Finally, even if that copper pipe is 2.5" (it isn't.. :p) they should still have the correct transition clamp at a local plumbing supply store. Let me know if you have more questions here... MARK |

Next step in my bathroom remodel is getting the floors up and new floors down. I have a 3" copper toilet drain with a copper flange soldered to it. I know I can use a torch to get the flange off. But, what should I replace it with when I get my new floor in. I am having a hard time locating...
I discovered a big hole behind the drywall in my copper drain line about 3/4' from the main 4" Drain... I need to disconnect the fitting... which direction is the thread... it is in there really tight and is difficult to loosen.

We just refinished bathroom with double vanity copper sinks. They have a flat grid drain in the bottom, not vented. Is there a different drain that would allow the water to drain easier? We have to swirl water or stir water to get it to begin draining, like there is a suction...
