    Copper Pipe Threads leaking
    I just installed a new shower regulator after moving the copper piping. The solder joints are holding but the threads on one side of the regulator are seeping (about 1 drip a min). Looks like the teflon tape missed a thread to two... I can't take it apart and try again because it's affixed to the wall and soldered in tightly to the other two connections. And I can't seal the wall until we fix the drip (and know it's fixed for good).

    I went to home depot and found three products and can't decided on which one to use. Two are epoxies (locktite marine epoxy and NSF Plumbing Epoxy Putty). The other is like super glue but better apparently. Called Amazing Goop for plumbing it claims to be a waterproof contact adhesive and sealant.

    Any experience with any of these or recommendations on what might work? Thanks!

    Personally --if was me, I would not trust any goop- I think as much of a pain in the butt as it is you need to fix it right.

    Savage's bang on. The best repair would be to take it apart and do it over.

    I am not sure how you replaced a shower regulator without taking something loose, but that is because I am not sure exactly what you did.

    You say you can't take it apart and try again because of the things you mentioned. If it was installed it can be un-installed and then the joints can be redone with more teflon tape.

    A rig job is a rig job. A job done right can give a good night's sleep. You may have a bad thread or not tight enough. Do the job right and you will be glad, rig it and you are just waiting till it fails, then the problem is considerably more devastating.
