Connecting / Retrofitting a floor drain for shower

The above drain has a p-trap and drains well. I want to be able to just raise it/modify it to raise so I can just pour a shower pan around it. I've hear stuff about bushings or sweating new pipe into it but I'm not quite sure what to get. Is this possible? Only need to raise it about an inch or so. Any help is appreciated.
