    What we unusually find is hair matter with grease. To clear the blockage we snake from the tub waste and overflow. (see image) REmove the trip lever plate and assembly and send your snake down the opening. You'll run into the traps return bend about 18" down but once past that you should only have 12 more feet to put out. Good luck, Tom

    Hi, I didn't get that far as all of a sudden the unexpected happened and gross, the toilet backed up into the tub. So I decided to call the professionals and called Roto Rooter and what a lucky gal I was. There is a Santa, he came within 2 hours and charged only the basic cost - Merry Xmas. Thank you for your help and you are on my Favorites list when another problem arises. Happy Holidays.
