    Bathroom in basement
    Hello,
My question is about a bathroom I am building in my basement. It is a new house and came with a stub for the bathtub and next to it is one for the toilet, in between both of them is a PVC pipe that comes from the ground up through the wall and on up stairs. I think this is a vent. My question is will I be able to install a sink and drain it in to this vent or not? If not can I run some PVC across the wall and drain into the bathtub drain not sure how much room I will have. Any thoughts on will be greatly appreciated

You may cut in a 2 X 2 X 1 1/2" sanitary tee 17 1/2 " off the floor to center of the tee and stub out to pick up the lavatory. The vent will come off the top of the tee and vent your bathroom group. Good luck, Tom
