    Basement Wye Connection Issue
    All,

I have a basement sewage line backing up and upon investigation believe that the wye connection (which is 4" on one side and 3" on the other side) may be defective. This is difficult to describe, but it appear that part of the 3" hole has some plastic protruding into it reducing the diameter thus not allowing solids to properly pass through into the 4" line to exit the house. At first, I thought there was a piece of foreign plastic material lodged in this connection, but it looks like this plastic is part of the original fitting. I am curious if anyone has heard of this before?

    Thanks,
    K.

The chances of that are slim and none.

It is. Snake the line to clear.

How are you able to see this thing?
