Backup of Floor Drain In Basement
I came home and went into my basement and seen there was flooding going on in my basement. It is where a basement drain is. The water is dirty and it's only in that area.. I have no issues with backups in sinks or toilets or anything, just that area.. the puddle directly over the drain is about 5 feet by 5 feet and about 4 inches deep. What could be causing this? I'm very clueless when it comes to plumbing so need some advice. Thanks in advance.

You have a blockage that needs to be "SNAKED". You can pay a guy, or do it yourself,

And don't use any water until you have the drain cleared. It will only come out the floor drain.

Floor drains are frequently not connected to sanitary sewers so I would not worry about using sink water just yet. If you run water in a sink does the water on your floor appear to get bigger? Do you have a sump pump pit?

My house built in 1924 has a problem with the floor drain in the basement backing up occasionally. There is not a clean out in the basement either, at basement floor level.I have snaked the main...
