I am looking at adding a floor drain into my basement, because I worry about water getting into the house, the house was built in 1949?

A few questions about adding a floor drain,

1) I was going to add a Y in the main drain and connect to a P trap with a drain at the top in the center of the room as it slopes to the middle . Is this the appropriate way to add a drain?
2) is it okay to use a dricore flooring system over the drain the water would still flow to the drain but it would allow me to put flooring over it? Yes I know it is not a good idea to not have access to it but I was hoping to put some flooring in that room?
3) any other suggestions to deal with a potential water issue from water leaking in from outside? All the windows are good, all drains aim away and the grade of the ground is okay, I want something that is fairly cheap under 1000 and effective for this situation.

The connection as described is correct. However, the floor drain has to be Primed. You will have to install drain primer otherwise your trap will dry and sewer gas, and sewer flies, will be entering living areas.

As far as the flooring goes: I personally find Wonder Deck ( wonderdeck.com) product extremely good for this application. It is about $5.00 a foot. It looks good, feels good, and it is designed for exterior applications.

Can I put a primer adaptor on the main line into the house. About 4ft after the shutoff for the water into the house I have a spot where I could put I primer adaptor in, would this supply too much water to the drain? Also what are the chances that I am going to have a backup from the sewers, is it a rare occurrence, is there anything I can put in the drain to prevent this backup?
