    "Magnitude" means how large something is. When taoking about vectors, the magnitude of the vector is its length, regardless of its direction. Also, in mathematics we often speak of "order of magnitude," which means how many powers of ten are in the number. Thus the number 1000 is two orders of magnitude greater than 10 ( versus .)
