    Did you try to make a sketch for your problem? Then, you should set what will you consider horizontal and what you will set as vertical.

    This done, make right angled triangles with the hypotenuse as the non horizontal and non vertical forces and find the sides of the triangle.

    When you did this, add the vectors in the same direction together. Those going opposite each other are subtracted from each other.

    When you're done, you will most probably end up with two lines, at 90 degrees to each other. Consider them as the sides of a new right angled triangle and work out the length of the hypotenuse and the angles in this triangle to get the direction. If need be, put it in the form of a bearing.
