    Convert from kms to m
I would have to convert Km to meters 1st, then answer the B & C using v = d/t, & get an answer in hours & seconds.

There are some semantics here that need to be addressed, otherwise there may be problems later on.

kms could be interpreted as kilometer-seconds or do you mean km's or km/s which I would interpret as kilometers or kilometers/s.

Now with the context of v=d/t; I took that as a mistake as thought it was v=ds/dt with the missing s.

It turns out that the velocity is the derivative with respect to time of distance which is usually s, so I have to put myself back to basics on this one.

Km is actually Kelvin-meters because of the capital K. Proper names get capitals and Kelvin is a unit of temperature. K means multiply by 1000 or kilo.

Just like S is the unit Siemens and s is the unit seconds.

and c is the speed of light and C is the unit of coulombs.

    This:
    v = d/t, & get an answer in hours & seconds.
also makes no sense since v=velocity and average velocity can be computed by distance/(unit time).

I believe you problem has some distance given in meters and some time given in seconds.

You are to compute km/hr and m/s (best guess) kilometers/hour and meters/second.

You must carry units through the calculations.

    for instance

    5m/s = 10m/2s; 10/2 =5 which is unitless and m/s is the correct unit.

    If you had V= 10m/2sec. * 60sec./1min. * 60 min/1hr

In this case the 60/1 is the number of minutes seconds in 1 minutes and the number of minutes in a hour.

When you all done multiplying 10*60*60/2 you get a number.

    When you multiply m/sec. * sec/min * min/hr

you get a unit of meters/hr or m/hr.

If the units are not correct, then you did the problem wrong
