    Photography Liability Waiver
I was asked by a close friend to photograph his daughters wedding. I know the bride and her family but I do not know the groom. Here lies my problem,we have some strange laws in Florida and I do not want to be sued if for some reason I or my camera gear experience a malfunction. I am not being paid for this or receiving any compensation. I have talked to the bride and her family and they do not have a problem signing a waiver. I would like some assitance in wording this document. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Gene

A person cannot waive his legal rights and that includes the right to sue if things don't go as planned. I see a waiver as being meaningless.

If this is a favor I don't see why you aren't the same as any other guest at the wedding, taking photos - unless, of course, you are a professional doing this as a favor. I don't see much difference in that event, just a higher level of responsibility.
