    Varment in the attic
We live in a berm home in the country, with the roof being a couple feet off the ground. Our problem is that we hear what seems to be something moving around in the attic, we have tried poison, live traps, glue traps, rat traps, etc. We caulked and applied screening material to all vents, leaving no holes. Now we are getting a very strong musty oder in our living area, Don't know what to do?

It sounds like you trapped whatever it was up there and it died. If you can get in the attic to reach it, take a plastic bag and remove the carcass, then lime the spot where it was laying. If you can't get into the attic, invest heavily in air sanitizers for the next three weeks, then use an insect fogger to keep flies down.

Reminds me of my pet hamster that got loose in the air ducts of my new home when I was a kid. The critter crawled into a very unaccessable spot and died. He was fragrant all winter and then the smell died down to nothing.

My good friend, catsmine, recommended mothballs, and paprika, to deter the flying squirrels that were getting into my attic. I am glad to say that now we are rodent free.

Hi - we want to add a bathroom in our attic, right above existing bathrooms, but can't do 'the right thing' with running a new vent stack line to tie in fixtures below the existing units. My question is: If we put in this bathroom, which would be wet venting everything, what problems will it...
