Mites - on me and my cat - they bite!
How do I get rid of mites safely? I fell asleep on a blanket outside and now have small (pepper sized) black dots on me. I keep feeling bites! I shaved all but my head and am now only feeling bites there. I know it's not lice because I went twice to a clinic and they found nothing. Now my cat is acting frantic and grooming and biting herself in the middle of the night. HELP!

There are so many kinds of biting mites, and there isn't one treatment for all of them. Scabies is a mite that requires a prescription lotion. Dust mites are easiest to deal with. Bird mites are probably the worst. It takes a specialist with a microscope to tell you what kind you have.
I would put either rubbing alcohol or peroxide in a spray bottle and spray your entire scalp thoroughly while standing in the tub, and spray your entire body just to be on the safe side. Wait a few minutes and then shower.
Call an online pet med place to advice on what to put on your cat.
Spray all around your house and wash everything that's washable in a washing machine on super hot.
