I was working as a 1099 employee for 3 months with a total salary of $5000(total of 3 months salary). Do I need to pay taxes for that amount, If so what would be the percentage I would be paying?

It depends:

1. Is this your total income for all of 2009? If you have other income, how much is it?
2. Can anyone else claim you as a dependent - such as your parents?
3. If the answer to 2 is no, then what is your marital status, and do you have any dependants?
