It has been over 10 years that my daughter has not spoke to me, or let me know where she was with 2 of my grandchildren. Then out of the blue she calls me, not to see how I am but to see if I can tell her how her son is doing that lives in this town that she has not had anything to do with in the last 10 years, she has stayed around her daughter all theses years about 500 miles away, she had left this son with another grandmother and grandfather in this town when he was 8 years old and he graduates this year form high school. She wanted to see a picture of him, now she says she is going to see her daughter who she has not seen séance May when her daughter got married. My daughter causes us a lot of heartaches and pain, told H. R. S. her family never helped her, and we had her and all her children with us for several years till she took 2 of them and moved south. Now she says she wants to see me... I can only ask myself Why after all this time. She is living with a man in Ohio and they are to drive 1700 miles before they get to tallahassee and then they have another 500 miles to drive to where her daughter is , says she would be here one night before having to leave again. What do you all think of this one??

    ElaineT,

Perhaps your daughter has matured. Perhaps she has missed everyone she left behind for a long time, but is just now gaining the courage to come back. All you can do is hope for the best and try to make the best of her visit. Welcoming her with open arms would be the dignified things to do. If she happens to hurt your family again, you'll be able to say to yourself,"I did my part the very best that I could". And feel good within yourself.

    Hi,
I was born and raised in a small town, Panhandle of FL, about 300 miles from Tallahassee... small world!
This of course, is your decision, as to whether even to see her when she gets there. I do suggest, that if you are going to see her, that you tell them to stay in a Motel.
This will relieve you of the "pressure", if any, of having them stay with you in your home.
I'll bet anything there is some other reason that they are driving all this distance! After this much time.
The only way you will know anything about it, is to see them. Talk with them, and try to have an open mind. If nothing has changed with her, it will be apparent after being with her for only a few minutes. If you don't hear the words, "I'm sorry for everything in the past", or something similar, then you can take it from there as to what to say or do.
I do wish you the very best of luck, and hang in there.

Find out they boyfriends name and run a background check on him and even your daughter since its been so long and see if they are running from trouble or are professional trouble makers like: robbery, id theft, etc... people are crazy these days its better to be safe than sorry even if its your own daughter. That's my advise to you.
