We have lived in this house for 2 years. I think there is a spirit here. My animals will growl and look up like they see something. My son's temp. in his room will drop. The most disturbing is the fact that sometimes I smell a burning scent that I have been told that possibly is something evil.

I had something in a previous home and I think it has followed us.

I have tried oil and white candles to help banish the smell when it happens, but how can I tell if all of the spirits are evil.

Thanks for your reply, but I do believe in spirits. I work with the elderly and have seen a lot of death. There is life after death. I want to find out if this spirit is harmful to my family. This is not in our heads.

First of all, what one person believes makes no difference on what reality is. Either spirits exist... or they do not. We all live in the same reality. The human brain is amazing... but not amazing enough to create whatever reality we want to live in. And just because you believe in friendly spirits... only means you have not encountered the really nasty ones as so many of us have.

Bbloom - spirits can manifest smells just as they can manifest to the other senses as well. One smell is not more "evil" than another. Superstitious thinking is one of the things that really holds back any understanding of the spirit world. It's a world that exists just as our does and it is even bound by laws as we are. I don't know what you went through at your old home, but spirits do quite often follow people from house to house... and through family generations.

Defining an spirit as evil can really be a play on words. If we say something is an evil spirit we think of what Hollywood has produced for us and anything less is simply not evil. Not true. They are almost always evil spirits... but their evil comes in that they operate almost entirely in deceit... and that is where the harm can come from. Just because you have not had any serious manifestations does not mean that it means you no harm.

You can tell how to judge a spirit by understand what the Bible says about it. Despite what many people think, the Bible tells us how to know the difference in the spirits, gives instruction on how to test them and most importantly tells how to remove and overcome them. It's not about blessing certain items or the home, it's not about what a priest or pastor says... it's about understanding what truths these entities are bound by and how it influences our spiritual lives.
