How to find history of a house, any deaths or what was on the land before the house was built.

Check at the local library (some keep files on homes and their owners in the community), at the community or county historical museum, or the county clerk's office for any notes on that address. The community may have a local historian or two -- the library or museum will know who that is.

Another good way to check is simply to talk to those who have been in the neighborhood for some time. Most areas do have a couple of old timers that will not only know the history of the land, but more than likely if something odd went on in the home.
