    What is this?
I have a friend who swore the other day someone called her name but when she asked"What do you want?' Everyone looked at her like she was nuts. No one said a word.
I have had this same experience in my own home. After showering one night I thought I heard my youngest daughter say Hello 3 times like she had answered the telephone and no one was on the other line. After I asked her who she was talking to she looked at me very strangely and said "No one mom"
Is this a spirit trying to communicate or should my friend consult a priest?

That happened to someone in the Bible. Elijah? Not sure. His dad or step-dad or whatever got sick of him coming over in the middle of the night and saying, "Did you call me?" So he said, "Next time, reply 'Speak, Lord, your servant is listening'."

While it might be someone or something other than God who is calling in this case, a willingness to listen to God could be an interesting approach to take. God speaks to us through all kinds of intermediaries.

Hi, it will be a spirit, either a relative or friend that has passed on, its very common for them to come and say hello, even to a non believer, well more so a non believer because that's how people start to wonder. For ibstance my grandfather did not believe in life after death at all, and not long after my grandmothers passing, he swore blind that he heard her call his name, right in his ear! It happened a few times and certainly left him wondering.

I have heard that words never leave the universe. Once they are said they bounce around the universe forever.
To me I think it is you happen to hear words that were already said and still bouncing around.

I have quite a few times distinctly heard my name called out and I turned to look around and nobody there.

Some people also say it might be your guardian angel.
