I'm not experienced, but it sounds like a symbolic dream. The long white gown is commonly known as the traditional garment for fair maidens. The chapel, like the gown, is set in a different time stereotypical for that time. You elaborated you did not feel comforted by this holy place when you wrote of the cold, stone and darkness. You may lost your faith in that chapel/church. For your religion, that chapel/church is suppose to bring you comfort, hope, a sense of protection. You felt neither of these things when you sensed death. You may have not noticed but regardless of your religious background there is no way to cheat death by seeking protection from a holy place.
Candles are very significant in every culture and religion. When the nun tried to reassure you that the room was cleansed from it's Satanic essence used by a prior party, you lost faith in the church/chapel. You were spooked already sensing death close by, lost your faith and showed it by leaving. By not running away, you tried to calm yourself, when you felt so much turmoil within, in order to appear normal. You no longer felt safe, and you lead yourself out of the chapel.
It has been said that Death beckons with familiarity. A black dog represents death in some cultures. The fact that it was familiar to you, means that Death is always close by and you are aware of it. When this familiar frightened you with it's appearance you sought to run away. You may have seen Death as a scary thing but that is never the case, you masked death that way. Once again, you sought the protection of the chapel/church and instead had an obstacles of arms/hands in your way.
People who want to be buried near the church wish to be protected by the church/chapel after death. Commonly it's wealthy people who are guilty of something that they fear will not secure them a place within heaven's gates. In your case, these arms in your dream, are of the people who know of the church/chapel, may have resided in it at one period or time, and left it just like you did. The people may have been influenced, or dragged by someone or some event, that has left them knowingly close to they're supposed sanctuary until their deaths. They made that decision but they wanted to prevent you from reaching what everyone likes to believe is the safe zone.
"To dream that you are in a cellar, represents a part of your subconscious mind where you have kept your fears and problems hidden. To dream that you are going down the cellar, signifies that you are digging deep into your own past and facing your fears."

You may fear the abnormalities of the church/chapel. You not see it as holy as you thought it was. The pig squealing in some negative dreams may signify ignorance, stubbornness, greed or just plain bad manners. It can even be a sexual symbol of bestiality and brutish lust. Perhaps you have heard rumors of someone within a church/chapel that has been behaving like a chauvinistic pig? The horses may represent the instinctive nature of the church and it's gruesome appearance is the tainted image that goes with it. A literal "night mare." Because you had already lost your trust with the chapel/church, you may have brought old rumors that may have supported the reasoning when you brought yourself to form the distrust initially. So, you could have been uncomfortable with something with what your church may have brought up and instead of adapting, your mind shied away and brought up old rumors or past church experiences with an individual or group of individuals to support your initial unadaptable thesis. Who knows? It may have lead to another religion...
Color must also be considered in interpreting a horse dream and the meaning modified as follows: Black signifies delays. White intensifies the positive. Gray indicates preceding difficulties. Sorrel or Piebald pertains to confusion. Brown concerns mental pursuits, and Tan or Palomino relates to love affairs.
In a dream, a nun may symbolize a need to find a spiritual meaning. When she told you you had no choice, that represents an obligation tied to your spiritual decisions. When you listened without complaint, you made an subconscious decision to abide by that obligation. You, riding on a bare horse, may signify you riding out your worries. Even the darkness can represent ignorance, the unconscious, evil, death, and fear of the unknown. If you feel safe in the dark, then it suggests that you like not knowing about certain things. As some might say, ignorance is bliss.Â
You and the nun rode rode back to your sanctuary, oblivious and at peace. The horses were calm obviously because you were calm.
